Welcome to Parrotly.
We offer you a language chat in 6 languages — so you can stay sharp between lessons or, if you already speak and write a little, have someone in your target language to chat with every day. Below you'll find everything you need to know — registration, your 4-word key for sign-in, and how to install Parrotly on your phone.
No email. No password. Just 4 words.
Parrotly is built privacy-first. Your login is a passphrase (4 random words) that only you know — so we have nothing to leak, sell, or hand over.
Powered by Mistral AI.
To make conversation feel natural, Parrotly sends your messages to Mistral AI — a European AI company — for processing. We chose them on purpose.
Mistral AI
An external partner, but European and fully GDPR-compliant. They process your input through their API to generate Parrotly's replies — and only ever see an anonymous account ID, the same UUID you find in Settings.
Go to app.parrotly.ch
In any browser on your phone — Safari, Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Brave. Nothing to download yet. Parrotly lives on the web.
Tip: you can use Parrotly just as well on a PC or tablet.
The starting point
Here you pick which language you want to learn and which is your native language — or a language you already know well. Specify your level too. Parrotly tunes its replies and corrections from there.
Save your passphrase
Parrotly shows you four random words (a passphrase). Only you know them. Together they are your login.
Write them down or save them in a password manager before you continue. If you lose them on the free tier, your chats are gone for good.
Your interests
After saving your passphrase, Parrotly asks for a few details so it can address you personally and pick conversation topics you'll actually enjoy.
Everything here is optional — and editable later
Make it feel like an app.
Parrotly is a Progressive Web App. On any smartphone, install it once via Safari, Chrome, or your browser of choice — then it opens fullscreen with its own icon, like any native app.
Welcome inside.
You should now see the Parrotly chat screen. Tap the hamburger button (☰) at the top-left to open the menu — Chat, New words and Settings all live there.
Tap Settings from the sidebar
Three places. That's the whole app.
Free is fine. Pro is unlimited.
Start free. When you want to keep going past the daily limit, open Settings → Unlock Parrotly Pro → Upgrade now . Stripe handles payment, invoices and cancellation.
Lost your passphrase?
Because we don't have your email, we can't reset anything for you. Here's the honest truth.
That's it. Start chatting.
Open Parrotly, say hello in your target language, and let the conversation pull you in. The first 30 seconds always feel a little awkward — and then they don't.
Welcome to the flock. 🦜A few honest answers.
Why do I need to add it to my Home Screen myself?
Browsers don't auto-install web apps — no matter the browser or operating system, you have to trigger it yourself. One-time, two clicks.
Which AI does Parrotly use?
Mistral AI, a European, GDPR-compliant company based in Paris. They process your messages via API and only ever see an anonymous account ID.
Can I use Parrotly on my laptop too?
Yes. Open app.parrotly.ch in any browser and sign in with your four words. Pro covers up to 3 devices.
Will Parrotly correct every mistake I make?
No — that would be exhausting. It corrects the ones that matter for being understood, gently, in the flow of the conversation.
Is my chat history private?
Yes. Tied to your passphrase only, no profile attached. We don't read it — but technically it sits on our server (Switzerland, Infomaniak), not end-to-end encrypted. We're working on fully anonymizing it. Want it gone? Deleting your account is enough.
Can I switch target language later?
Not yet — your target language is set at registration. We're building the switch feature right now. If you need to switch in the meantime, create a second account with a new passphrase. Your level can already be changed any time in Settings.
What does the free tier include?
Full access, capped daily messages. Enough to feel whether Parrotly clicks for you before you pay anything.
